It’s been announced that former bake-off favourite Mary Berry is to take over from Matt LeBlanc as Top Gear’s new host. Berry (96) will be the show’s main anchor for the next three years.
The newly minted Top Gear host told The Daily Chronicle, “I’m absolutely thrilled. Top Gear is my favourite program of all time and there’s nothing I love more than blowing up caravans with dynamite, pushing caravans off cliffs and firing caravans out of cannons. I also like cars.”
With Mary’s legion of loyal fans we are excited to see what she has to bring to the table as we anticipate the production of Top Gear‘s next series.
Best news of all is that Top Gear fans will no longer have to endure LeBlanc’s smug, phoned-in performances as the most recent face of the British automobile TV show packs his bags and heads back to Hollywood.
Before taking over as the slow, dim-witted presenter of Top Gear, LeBlanc was previously best known for his role as the slow, dim-witted actor Joey Tribbiani on the popular NBC sitcom Friends, and the slow, dim-witted actor in the BBC comedy series Episodes.
