London cyclist stops at red traffic light

A cyclist in London has been spotted stopping at a red traffic light instead of riding straight through it like a complete twat.

An eye witness told the Daily Chronicle, “I simply couldn’t believe my eyes. When the light turned red, the rider slowly and safely brought his bike to a halt and then waited patiently for the lights to change.”

“Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, road users must not cross the stop line when the traffic lights are red. This offence, also known as “red light jumping”, applies to cyclists as well as motorists but no-one has ever witnessed a cyclist obeying this law. So, this may well be a world first.”

We asked for a statement from the National Cycling Charity and they told us, “Our advice to our members is to speed up when they approach red lights and knock over any pedestrians that happen to get in the way. If anyone complains we advise them to swear aggressively and make an obscene gesture.”
