Troubled Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, 32, has left the club to pursue a career in the music business. Sources close to the player say that he will shortly go public with the news that he is to join superstar boy band Take That.
Chart-topping lead singer Gary Barlow, 49, told us, “We’ve been looking for a fourth member of the group for some time, and as soon as we heard that Ozil was unhappy at Arsenal we made our move.”
Take That members Howard Donald and Mark Owen were unavailable for comment this afternoon, and there is yet to be a statement from Arsenal Football Club.
Take That were formed in Manchester in 1990. The original line-up also featured Jason Orange and Robbie Williams.
Arsenal are currently placed 5th in the Premier League having won 3 out of their first 5 league games.
